Z’SOM takes its name from the Tyrolean dialect word for “together”. And that is exactly where the idea for our restaurant began: bringing cultures, experiences and people together.
Our roots lie in Austria and Latin America, while our experiences reach far beyond. After many years spent living in different countries, we created a place in Vienna that brings all these influences together.
Z’SOM is a small restaurant with an open kitchen and just a few tables. We want to serve ambitious food in a personal, relaxed atmosphere – close to our guests and without unnecessary formality.
At the heart of our cooking is the product. We work closely with producers who share our curiosity – including those who grow ingredients for us here in Europe that have their roots in Latin America. This is where products from our immediate surroundings meet flavors, techniques and culinary memories from another part of the world.

Diego’s cooking has been shaped by a journey that has taken him far beyond his Chilean roots. For more than 15 years, he worked in kitchens and countries around the world – from Peru and Spain to Canada, China, the Philippines and France.
Today, these experiences flow into the cooking at Z’SOM alongside flavors and culinary memories from Latin America. Freshness, vibrant flavors and an element of surprise are always at the heart of his food.
Tradition is not a fixed recipe, but a starting point from which dishes can evolve – without losing sight of where they come from.
Judith Lergetporer
Owner + Restaurant Manager + Sommelière
Judith’s approach to hospitality has also been shaped by many years spent in different countries. Originally from Tyrol, she has lived in the USA, Morocco, Spain, China, Japan and France. It was in Paris that she discovered her particular passion for wine and trained as a sommelière.
Warmth and a sense of discovery continue to shape the atmosphere at Z’SOM today. In service as much as in the glass, it is about staying curious, discovering something new and never losing a sense of ease.
The wine selection connects Europe and Latin America, giving small producers, unusual grape varieties and lesser-known regions space to be discovered.
